A simple, cold, hard fact - REVENGE, to laugh at those who have laughed at me before. Very often, in my and your life, you will meet people who think they are BETTER than you. True. Some of them are better than you academically, but when it comes to other areas, they are seriously emotionally inferior.

I have met people who told me that Internet Marketing doesn't work. The truth is I am earning $ over the internet, you FUCKERS! Wahaha. That will emotionally relieving on my part. Perhaps, sometimes I am just too nice that people tend to step over me. Hence, one thing for sure is I will never teach those "smart-alecks" anything about IM.

So some people ask me why am I a workaholic. That's easy. To carve out a career over Internet marketing. To laugh at those who laughed at me once. Errm... Revenge can be a powerful driving force in life. Who says negativity doesn't work.

Back to the topic of my wireless card. It got fried during a power surge... So instead of buying a new card, I decided to buy a new laptop, a Lenovo Thinkpad. It should be coming on the 20th July.

Hooray. 2 laptops in 4 months. I will post my new laptop pics online soon. Later.

From Joe to Internet Marketer

Today's blog post will be slightly different. Its about *ME*! No, I am not narcissistic, just in the mood to share, that's all. What am I going to talk about today? Simple. My transition from being an average Joe to an Internet Marketer...

I have been in this business for some time, spending most of the time learning the ropes. It's a pretty steep learning curve. Lots of time and effort to do it but I enjoy every single moment of it. There is self-discovery in this journey. I won't go into this in depth but my message in this post is building an Internet business is very enriching!

While doing the norm stuff like going University, get a job, work from 9-5 sounds OK, I don't see a future very bright with these few approaches. Don't get me WRONG. University is GREAT, I be entering NUS in a few short months but I realized what I have learnt through Internet Marketing definitely outshines any past experiences I had in life.

For now... I still keeping my seat in NUS, afterall I studied for 2 years in Junior College to get the seat. But my best bet in life is Internet Marketing. = )

If you are wondering what I am doing online? I run Mastermind Group Hub. More about that later. Check it out and post me any questions. There are some great interviews on the site that you can grab... Have fun and live every moment in your life with a purpose in mind.

Don't confuse effort with results.

The First Light *Revival*

From the ashes, the phonemic is revived and reborn! Many sayings have affirmed the existence of Masterminding in ancient times, e.g. “the sum of a whole is greater than the parts”, “two heads are better than one.” And this concept still hold true today, with more and more businesses, organizations and individuals trying to harness the power of Mastermind groups to accomplish greater results in a shorter time. The term Masterminding may seem fairly new but the concept of tapping and harnessing the power of a Mastermind group is definitely not.

Click here to read the complete article

Mastermind groups and Success
Free Mastermind group GUIDE(html only)

What Masterminding REALLY is?

First things first. The burning question in most of your heads now should be, “What Masterminding really is?” There are many definitions of Masterminding but they all carry the core principle of Masterminding.

Perhaps only Dr. Napoleon Hill can best define Masterminding. He described Masterminding as the “coordination of knowledge and effort, in the spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

He continued, “No two minds can ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible, intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

Click here to read the full article

Mastermind groups and Success
Free Mastermind group GUIDE(html only)

The Best-Kept Secret of the Rich Is not Doing it Alone

Bill Gates wouldn't be where he is today if it wasn't for the help he's gotten. Many people try to do too much on their own and it actually hurts their chances for more success in their life.

One great example of this has to do with a concept called "Masterminding". A conversation that Chicken Soup for the Soul, Jack Canfield was telling me about during my interview with him described the importance of this concept.

Let's look at the example Jack told me about. And in this week eMeditation, they talked about doubt and fear as the enemies of success. It relates very well to most of us, for these 2 emotions often hinder us from accomplishing our greatest dreams and success. And this is so true in the business field. I have often heard of people who want to give a try in building a business but often its all TALK and no ACTION.

In fact, there is nothing difficult in taking the first step, that is to overcome fear. I have actually gone out to set up my first Internet business by using a powerful strategy known as the Mastermind Group principle. In fact, I realized its the growing of your business that is challenging. I will elaborate more it in the next post, whereas for now, enjoy and learn from this article about doubts and fears.

James Allen eMeditation - February 27, 2006

"Doubt and fear are the great enemies of knowledge, and she who encourages them, who does not slay them, thwarts herself at every step." – As A Man Thinketh

I've heard it said that we're born with only a few fears – like the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. All other fears we learn along the way. Like the fear of failure, the fear of rejection - even a fear of success. I believe our greatest enemy in life is fear, because fear keeps us from doing many of those things we would like to do that would make our life more complete and more enjoyable.

Doubt is the first cousin of fear and precedes it. We weren't born with doubt. Our habit of doubt has grown throughout our life. If we dwell on a doubt and give in to it, it then grows into fear. In his epistle, the ancient writer James reminds us that doubt makes us ineffective, "a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as the wave of the sea that is tossed and driven by the wind; and every decision you then make will be uncertain, as you turn first this way, and then that."

If most of our fears and all of our doubts are learned along the way, then we can "unlearn" them by becoming masters of our thoughts. I once heard Zig Ziglar quote Mark Twain when he said, "True courage is not the absence of fear, it's the mastery of fear." The people who live the life of their dreams have just as many fears as those who live miserable, unfulfilled lives - they have just learned to master their fears instead of allowing their fears to master them.

Norman Vincent Peale, writing in You Can If You Think You Can, provides us with a prescription for mastering fear and doubt. "You can cancel out fear with faith. For there is no force in this world more powerful than faith. The most amazing things can happen as a result of it...There are two massive thought forces competing for control of the mind: fear and faith, and faith is stronger, much stronger. Hold that thought of faith's greater power until you believe it, for it can be the difference between success and failure."

success & personal development

Some consider him the grandfather of personal development who influenced a legion of modern-day writers including Napoleon Hill, author of the classic Think and Grow Rich. Sales guru Jeffrey Gitomer says, "the person Hill emulated was Orison Swett Marden...Marden was the original positive-attitude genius of the 20th century. “

Marden founded the first Success Magazine in the late 1800's and grew it to a circulation over 500,000, which was considered very large for that time. He was a prolific success writer and counted Carnegie, J.C. Penney, and many others of the same ilk, among his friends. From 1894-1924 he wrote over 70 books and they are as powerful as they are prophetic and insightful. Consider this quote from Why Grow Old: “The coming man will not grow old in appearance as he now does. The tendency of the race will be more and more toward perpetual youth.” He wrote that in 1909. Here’s what CBSNews.com reported recently: “The ideal almost everywhere is to seem young for as long as possible. The health clubs and endemic workout clothes, the enormous increase in cosmetic surgery (for women and men), the special youth-oriented television programming and moviemaking, all these are merely the more obvious signs of the triumph of youth culture…This phenomenon is not something that happened just last night; it has been underway for decades.”

And he wrote just as insightfully on every topic in the personal development arena. Here are the chapters from The Miracle of Right Thought:

Divinity of desire
Success and happiness are for you
Working for one thing and expecting something else
Expect great things of yourself
Self encouragement by self suggestion
Crime of the blues
Change the thought, change the man
Paralysis of fear
One with the divine
Getting in tune
Great within
New way of bringing up children
Training for longevity
As a Man Thinketh
Mental self thought poisoning.

Copyright (C) 2003-2006 Vic Johnson. Sickly thoughts will express themselves through a sickly body." – Path to Prosperity

Almost 100 years ago James Allen wrote these words in his book, Path to Prosperity: "in the near future, the fact that all disease has its origin in the mind will become common knowledge." He would be honored to know that a June, 1997 story in the Wall Street Journal said that HMOs were reporting that as much as 70 percent of all visits to a primary care physician were for a psychosomatic illness -- a disorder that involves both mind and body.

According to Dr. David Sobel, a primary care physician and author of the highly respected Mind-Body Health Newsletter, only 16 percent of people who visit their physician for common maladies like nausea, headache and stomach upset are diagnosed with a physical, organic cause. That means that a whopping 84% are suffering from an illness that originated in THOUGHT!

The evidence suggests that in most cases today we are thinking and talking our way to sickness and disease, or as Bob Proctor puts it: “dis--ease.”

Jeff Keller, writing in Attitude is Everything, says, "it makes absolutely no sense to keep repeating that you have "chronic back pain that will never go away" or that you get "three or four bad colds every year." By uttering these statements, you are actually instructing your body to manifest pain and disease."

In his book A Clear Path to Healing, Dr. Barry Weinberg writes, "The creation of health, as in all creations, must first start in the mind. Once the mind is made up and the commitment and unwavering determination to heal has been made, healing is inevitable."

And that's worth thinking about.

Copyright (C) 2003-2006 Vic Johnson.
All rights reserved worldwide.
Change your thoughts, change your life
Free eBook - As A Man Thinketh
James Allen's timeless classic
http://www.AsAManThinketh.net

4 Ways a Mastermind Group can benefit Business Owners.

4 Ways a Mastermind Group can benefit Business Owners.

Mastermind groups are nothing new. Ever since it has appeared in Napoleon Hill’s 1937 classic “Think and Grow Rich”, more people have embraced the concept to create their desire changes in personal goals and wealth creation. Like many other business owners, I have applied this idea in my Internet business and have gained favorable results in many aspects. Hence, today I will share 4 ways a Mastermind group can benefit business owners solely in Internet business.

A simple definition of a Mastermind group is the getting together of two or more minds for one common purpose. They work in harmony to give support to each other through ideas, encouragement, insights and resources in a non-competitive environment.

The bottom line is that Masterminding is an effective process to provide solutions to challenges, problems through other powerful tools such as creative brainstorming, networking and accountability structures. Most business owners can benefit from this simple process.

The 4 Benefits Mastermind groups can bring to most Business Owners

(1)Influx of new ideas and fresh perspectives. Perhaps the most valuable asset a business owner can have to his existing business is a constant influx of new ideas and fresh perspectives from a group of peers he trust and respect. This is possible with a Mastermind group where you would meet your group every month to bring your business to a higher level.

(2)Staying positive and motivated. The greatest challenge a business owner may face is staying positive and motivated even when the entrepreneurial seizure has ended. To give up a profitable business due to lack of motivation is perhaps the saddest thing you can do. Thus to effectively prevent this, engage in interaction with Mastermind group on a regular basis. The discussions and stimulation that occur can challenge and inspire you with high levels of energy, excitement and passion to keep you in the business.

(3)Accountability and Responsibility. Staying positive and motivated and to be charged with high levels of energy is important but not sufficient to bring your business to the next level. Mastermind groups can act as sounding boards for your business decisions and hold you accountable and responsible till completion of your plans. Simple systems can be set up within the Mastermind groups to track members’ progress or if any follow-up action is done.

(4)Shorten learning curve by a huge margin. In an era where time is money, we have to learn double the things in half the time. By connecting with peers in a Mastermind group who have similar experience, you tapped, learn and benefit from others’ input. This greatly shortens your learning curve by a huge margin and this process can be repeated with you sharing related ideas and experience to others in the future.

The above benefits mentioned are only made possible when members of your Mastermind group are dedicated and committed to contribute unconditionally. If members were to join a Mastermind group solely to “take and receive”, it will greatly drain the energy of the group. Hence, when choosing your Mastermind members, the process we use to screen is as rigorous as finding an actual business owner. When you play, play. Don't mix the two.

Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are with the gift of attention.

On the way to work, concentrate on the way - not the work.

Pay attention. However, what he’s really sharing with us is the value of persistence. If I had to pick one character trait that I think is a "must have" in order to be successful in any endeavor, it would be persistence. In fact, it seems to be the one trait that is the dominant trait in every single, super-successful individual I know. I believe it to be the one trait that any ordinary person can use to become extraordinary ("extra-ordinary").

Napoleon Hill, who wrote Think and Grow Rich, devoted an entire chapter to Persistence and said that the only thing that was different about Henry Ford and Thomas Edison was their persistence. I’ve long since forgotten where I read it, but I’ve never forgotten the story of the tribe in Africa that confounded all of the anthropologists. It seems that this tribe had for centuries enjoyed a 100% success rate with its rain dance. In comparing this tribe to other tribes who did rain dances but who didn’t always experience success, the experts couldn’t find anything that differentiated the one tribe. They performed the same rituals, praying the same incantations to the same gods, in the same costumes. Like all the tribes, they sometimes danced for days, even weeks on end.

Finally an astute observer noticed something very telling. The successful tribe did one thing - and only one thing - different than the other tribes. It ALWAYS danced UNTIL it rained! If your head is hanging low today as mine has done on many a day, I hope you’ll find the encouragement to know that you really only need to do one thing at this point --- PERSIST. And that means taking just one step in the right direction --- even a half step in the right direction. Yes, maybe you need to review your plan or change your plan or maybe you even need to create a plan in the first place :-) But the one way you can ensure that you will meet with success (it’s absolutely guaranteed) -- is to "dance until it rains!" And that’s worth thinking about.

Copyright (C) 2003-2006 Vic Johnson. During his senior year he was assigned a writing project to describe what he wanted to be when he grew up. His seven-page essay minutely detailed the 200-acre ranch he wanted to own. It included a diagram of the ranch and a detailed floor plan of his 4,000 square foot home.

Despite the passion and effort Monty put into his paper, he received it back with a large “F” written on it and a note to see the teacher after class. The teacher told Monty that the reason he had given him that grade was because his paper was unrealistic. He went on to cite all of the reasons why, and told Monty that if he would rewrite the paper with a more realistic goal, he would reconsider the grade. After considering it for a week, the young man turned in the same paper with no changes, along with the remark, “You can keep the F and I’ll keep my dream.”

The conclusion of the true story has the teacher bringing 30 students for a summer campout at the 200-acre ranch of the now grown (and successful) Monty who lives in his 4,000 square foot dream home.

If it worked for the son of an itinerant horse trainer it will work for you. The principle is simple: (1) create a dream that is so big that it will keep you excited, (2) define the dream in minute detail, (3) live in the dream so that it becomes real to you on the inside, (4) and then hold on to it so tightly that no one can take it away from you.

James Allen goes on to offer this great wisdom, “Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals...For out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built.”

But Monty, perhaps, offered the greatest wisdom, “You can keep the F and I’ll keep my dream.”

And that’s worth thinking about.

Copyright (C) 2003-2005 Vic Johnson. They are Influence, The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. Cialdini and Donald Trump, Master Apprentice by Gwenda Blair as well. I have the habit of reading 2 books at once so that I do not get bored when I faced serious content from either book. The Donald Trump's autobiography was extremely intriguing, he was brillant at business when he was in his teens. FANTASTIC. The Persuasion book was to be my marketing bible for my next couple of months to aid me in my Internet business's SUCCESS. Success

Today I will talk about Mastermind groups, my own Mastermind groups in fact. Stephen Covey talked about the shift from independence to interdependence as a very important step, and yes, he is very right about this. Its not easy to be independent, not to mention being interdependent. And this applies to masterminding, Mastermind groups as well. Many have asked me what are the secrets to getting good members, what are the things to look out for? There are many factors but there is one factor I have recently realized that is very vital to the success of the group, i.e independence. When choosing your members, make sure that guy is independent on his own, being responsible for himself through actions and words. He has to first to be able to take control of his life, his emotions before he can commit himself to the team. Lots of damage can be done and by then, it would be too late to do damage control!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://livingthegreat.blogspot.com/2006/01/mastermind-groups-success.html' title='Mastermind groups... I am sure your parents have said the same thing many many times to you as well. Robert Kiyosaki talks about this in his Rich Dad series book as well. Thus, the CRUX of the question is, can education bring the success we want?In my opinion, its DEFINITELY A YES! However, besides seeking the general education of acquring knowledge in classes, we have to open ourselves up to a higher level of learning and education- the REAL TEST OF EDUCATION.

What is the real test of education?

1) An open mind. To be flexible in our strategies and approach we take when we take actions to have success.

2)Entertaining new ideas. To be ready to throw away some of our most cherished beliefs when some new, better information comes along.

3)Entertaining a new person. To be able to feel comfortable when you meet other people.

4)Entertaining yourself. To be able to have interesting dialogues with yourself. Should not feel lonely when being with yourself.

This is the higher level of education you have to seek and acquire in school together with the process of studying your core subjects, that will bring you the success you desire.

Start 2006 With Knowledge And Wealth

“Money is like manure. These are the people who will forgo attempting to assert their own goals and personal values if it is necessary for them to fulfill their responsibilities in the teamTeamwork is defined as the cooperative effort by the members or a group or a team to achieve a common goal. However, according to Debra Connelley, Ph.D., who teaches organizational behaviour at the University of Buffalo, people tend to shut out information that doesn't mesh with their own beliefs, especially when it comes from someone they don't like or trust, therefore teamwork does not necessarily equate to positive results.

Teamwork is a great concept precisely because contrasting personalities and skills can complement each other. The obvious benefit of working in a team is the synergy brought by the combined strengths of the team. Each one is a subject matter expert who can make up for his peer’s weaknesses, vice versa, to achieve a common goal together. For the process to be pleasant for everyone, the level of commitment in each member must be the same. Flexibility in thinking and professionalism is necessary to avoid personal conflicts. Professionalism is not just a relentless focus on the task at hand, but taking the effort and time to build social and emotional relationships within the team. When all these factors are present, it is likely that the team will likely to have a harmonious working relationship, leaving out their egos for the sake of a common goal. The benefits will go beyond just accomplishing the task.

Problems within a team cannot be simply explained as the result of a team’s diversity. Differences in ethnicity, education background, family background and personalities will ensure that a team’s meeting will not be filled with team members nodding their heads to others’ ideas. There are bound to be arguments, but they can be positive if not for personal triumph over others. While professionalism is much desired, according to researchers from the University of Michigan, being impersonal and focusing solely on work can be detrimental to productivity. Someone in a team who thinks himself as superior may ignore others’ ideas and slow down the team’s progress. To have an irresponsible teammate who puts in half-hearted efforts in team discussions and assignments can be irritating to other team members. It can also lead to resentment among them if the guilty one puts in his best only in individual assignments. A team of similar job backgrounds may not necessarily bring harmony, but there may be some professional jealousy, suggesting that people may feel threatened by co-workers who could know more about their area of expertise. Fortunately, this form of jealousy can be dissipated in the form of team-building sessions. A team of individuals is no better than separate individuals, if the former cannot work together as teamwork suggests.

An organization that has good teamwork is evidently able to deliver the quality that the clients expect. When the staff work together with less tension for the greater good, customers experience a new level of service that exudes warmness and enthusiasm. Teamwork does not just bring out the quality, but also the productivity in each member. In the corporate world, high productivity gives companies the edge in competition. Consumers stand to gain. Employees do themselves justice because they are likely to get pay raise or at least secure their jobs due to an impressive company performance. A sense of belonging in the team comes naturally when each member recognizes the success formula that is owned by his or her team.

A dysfunctional team can be a disaster for an organization, given the level of resources that may be committed to a project. Teamwork is not simple because listening, negotiating and compromising are involved. It is a difficult concept for some people. When decisions have to be negotiated, individual creativity may be sacrificed for the sake of a team’s progress. Therefore, it is not always true that the team has actually come up with the best product within the shortest time based on their potential. If a team cannot communicate effectively, the time involved in completing the task will be unnecessarily long. Rushing through deadlines due to each member pushing responsibility to another person initially until someone gets into the act of handling it will seriously compromise the quality of the product. When a team cannot work together, it’s likely that competitions and setbacks will break it apart.

Good teamwork requires a balance. A good team of average but cooperative members can easily beat a bunch of individualistic superstars, who are less likely to accept compromise and self-sacrifice. For a team to be successful, pure professionalism is not enough. Team-building provides the platform to remove any doubts and possible conflicts prior to working together. Cooperation must be learned and each one needs to understand the benefits of teamwork, be them immediate or future.

Copyrights © Patrick Song
All Rights Reserved

The contents of this article may be copied, reproduced, or freely distributed for all nonprofit purposes without the consent of the author as long as the author's name, copyright notice and contact information are included.

HUGGS your way to SUCCESS!

HUGGS
First thing first. What are HUGGS? HUGGS are Huge, Unbelievably Great Goals. Success begins with well-defined HUGGS. HUGGS generate a higher level of excitement and energy in out livesWhy set HUGGS? HUGES set apart the big and small goals. HUGGS are personal. They are your very own unique creation. HUGGS are a reflection of your identity and core values. They engage you emotionally and make you good when you think about them. HUGGS portray your very own unique self.

HUGGS are very similar to the chemical reactions in the core of a nuclear power reactor. Small and what seems to be insignificant, they are the very source of power to provide electricity to several cities. Similarly, a few well-defined HUGGS in our lives, with the correct focus and action, create massive amounts of energy to produce the RESULTS we so desired.

Define you HUGGS clearly. Not many and this is a fact! Why do I say this? Well, first of all, I am the product of this education system and from the experience I had in the army, all I met was mostly failed leadership. Luckily, the government has taken steps and actions to remedy the situation through new integrated programs to foster leadership in schools and away from rote-learning. With time, perhaps we will be learning such skills more effectively. However, it’s because of my negative experiences with bad leaders that make me wonder:” How can an 18 year old young adult really learn about leadership?” and “What are some of the fundamentals of good leadership an 18 year old must have?”

The purpose of my title as well as the opening statement serves to capture your attention and to get you to read on since a typical 18 year old young adult do get turn off with such topics. I hope that you continue to read this article and take at least one idea to implement in your life.

What is meant by leadership? American Management Consultant, Peter F. Drucker has this to say,” Leadership is not magnetic personality-that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not making friends and influencing people-that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations.” This is the true picture of leadership and now let’s takes a look at some of the details.

A leader has to have a team. Not any team with members he randomly picks. This only happens in school where the teacher assigns you your team members. A true leader learns to make his own decisions in choosing the members he required in his team. By learning to do so, he forms a mastermind team, a team whose vision and values aligned with the leader. It requires courage, skill, experience, good EQ as well as intelligence to assemble and maintain such a team. From selecting the right members to planning to execution of the plans, it requires hard work and effort. In this team …

A leader is foremost a servant. He has to first give then receive. The notion of giving solely is so foreign to many of us that we are constantly into the W.I.T.F.M (What’s in it for me ) and R.O.I ( Return of Investment ) that we fail to give a little at all. Why are we so afraid to give that little bit? Don’t we realize that there is a universal law – “The Law of Compensation” like the law of gravity which governs us 24/7? This law states that you will always be compensated for your efforts and for your contributions, whatever it is, however much or however little. Don’t always ask for something in return. Have faith in the law and do give more than you receive.

So what does the leader actually give? He gives encouragement; he is motivated by the wish to empower his members, to bring out the best of his mastermind team. He is supportive to every team member and never ridicules, condemns or ignores ideas contributed. How else can he encourage, he does so by delegating, and this empowers them for the role of the leader is to nurture his followers into leaders. Why is this consider empowerment? Johann Wolfgang von Goethe explains, “Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them become what they are capable of being.” The greatest ability of the leader is recognizing the ability in others and encourages it.”

To lead is also to show the way by going in advance. A leader has to lead by example. He has to take the first step. This inspires great confidence, courage and strength in the team. A team performs best with such a leader. So where does the leader lead his followers to? To places where they wish to go, but wouldn’t go alone. This is what a true leader does, to inspire his team not only with words but with action, meaningful action that requires courage.

There are many qualities of a good leader which I cannot write about in such a short article. If you truly desire to be a good leader, take action to become one, start by reading a book on leadership, any small step helps. To conclude, heed the timeless principle of leadership by American business philosopher Jim Rohn, “The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not a bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly.”

Copyrights © Chue Yan Wei
All rights reserved
http://www.livingthegreat.blogspot.com
http://www.masteryinasecond.blogspot.com

The contents of this article may be copied, reproduced, or freely distributed for all nonprofit purposes without the consent of the author as long as the author's name, copyright notice and contact information are included.

Fix Your Weakest Link and Enjoy SUCCESS

We are born with massive potentials to succeed. Yet many intelligent and hardworking individuals are not achieving the same level of success as a super achiever because they are not utilizing their potentialsA super achiever accomplishes more as he is able to get 600 horsepower out of his 500 horsepower engines. Whereas most of us are only using a mere 50 horsepower out of the same engines. Will this have played a significant difference in the level of results we achieved in our lives? Definitely. The crux of the question is, “What is holding us back?”

It is the weakest link problem. This weakest link may be alcohol, it may be gambling or it may be the infamous habit of procrastination. But if you are determined to unleash your potential to succeed, you have to identify and fix your weakest link.

A super achiever is just a human being that functions very, very well. And that is not having any weak links. It is just this simple. This gives him the edge to out perform, outwit and outlast the rest of us.

Fix your weakest link and enjoy the success you desired.

Copyrights © Chue Yan Wei
All rights reserved

Edited by Patrick Song

The thin line between SUCCESS and MINORITY

“The will to succeed is important, but what’s more important is the will to prepare.”

Success and preparation are synonymous terms.

When we looked at Champions, we often envied the level of success they attained or congratulated them for their overnight success. However, have you ever realized success is never built overnight?
The crux of the question is “What make Champions attain a level of success that many failed to achieve?”
In my opinion, Champions are made in the early morning hours when the rest of the world is sleeping just a little bit longer; in the late evening hours when fatigue has overtaken the average person and sent them to bed. In thousands and thousands of little ways that they discipline themselves to do the things that everyone could do, but most people won’t do.
For example, the discipline to plan each day’s work the night before, no matter how tired I was, has had more to do with my success than any “big” thing I’ve ever done. Not a “big” thing, but a necessary thing in getting prepared to win.
As one of my heroes, Muhammad Ali, said, “The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.”
Copyrights © Chue Yan Wei
All rights reserved

Edited by Patrick Song

Want some PIE?

Why read self-help books and attend personal development seminars?
We live in a very competitive world. Any individual who wants a piece of pie in this world has to fight for it.
Today we go about getting a larger piece of the pie by increasing our self-worth through various means. For some, it means going back to school to pursue a higher education. Some continue to believe that sheer hard work is the practical way to success. Whereas a minority does nothing and hope that they can become better people.

There is an increasing trend where people turn to self-help books and seminars to improve themselves. And the results are extremely promising and encouraging.

To many of those who do not have the habit of reading, this alternative may seem boring and nerdy. Boring and nerdy would never be the words you or I would use to describe once we recognize the many benefits they have.

What is the magic behind these books and seminars? Foremost, they provide motivation. Massive and focused motivation in areas you are interested in improving on. Motivation is a crucial key to success in life. And the most convenient source of motivation comes from these books and seminars. Motivation empowers an individual with a positive mindset, the correct attitude: this greatly increases his energy, drive and productivity. We are constantly surrounded with negativity, from people, TV, radio, it’s important that we get out of this negativity by reading uplifting and positive books.

Self-help books and seminars provide an array of specialized knowledge that is not available in the current education system. What is this specialized knowledge? What you seek is what you get. There are lots and lots of books in so many areas, all it requires you are some time, effort and maybe money to get your hands on the information you seek through the book. This specialized knowledge is extremely valuable and practical once you applied it. New knowledge opens the mind. You will be exposed to new ideas and perspectives from different schools of thoughts to improve yourself and to an extent for some, they suffer “information overload”. My advice for you is to apply as many of the ideas you have learnt, discard those that do not work for you, keep those that are effective and see the positive changes take place in your life.

The acquisition of new knowledge is vitally important to remain competitive in today’s world. However, knowledge alone is not sufficient to bring you to greater heights. What I have learnt from these books and seminars is that they have the ability to act as mentors in our lives. Mentors have valuable experience in their specialized fields to share that will provide any individual with insights and ideas never known to them. This can greatly shorten the learning curve and reduce any trial and error needed to achieve the outcome. However, everyone recognizes the many benefits of a good mentor but not many of us take the effort or are lucky enough to find such a mentor. Self-help books and seminars are an extraordinary source of accumulated experience of the authors and speakers. The essence of their experiences lies deep in these materials and is easily accessible to anyone who makes the effort to understand, learn and apply what is taught. For some, they never managed to see the valuable experience that lies right in front of them and they never will until the day they feel that is so much pain in their lives and that something must be done. Wouldn’t it be too late by then? Read with a definite purpose; ask yourself, “What information am I seeking for, what is my purpose of reading this book?” Self-help books and seminars are your best mentors till you find the one that is willing to enrich and guide you.

Looking for a mentor to guide you is a MUST if you seek to achieve success in the shortest time possible. Where and how do you go about finding them? A self-help seminar is one highly possible place. These seminars are a congregation of highly motivated individuals who come from various fields and age groups and most importantly, many of them are very helpful people. The speakers themselves can be your mentors as well. There is no other better place as compared to a self-help seminar. Networking is the key to finding your ideal mentor. You will never know when you will find such a person. In short, it takes courage, persistence and a respectable amount of self-confidence in yourself to impress and convince someone to be your mentor. Remember that these mentors you seek are very busy people themselves. Instead of satisfying your needs, think about what you can offer to your mentor first. Give before you receive. They may not become your mentors but beautiful friendship may bloom and soon you realized that you are completely surrounded by positive and highly motivated people. It was Jim Rohn who said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” And since you are surrounded by positive and energetic people, you will experience new vibrant energy to propel you to greater heights in your life.

Copyrights © Chue Yan Wei
All Rights Reserved
http://www.livingthegreat.blogspot.com
http://www.masteryinasecond.blogspot.com

The contents of this article may be copied, reproduced, or freely distributed for all nonprofit purposes without the consent of the author as long as the author's name, copyright notice and contact information are included.

Have you used the f*** word lately?

This should catch your attention.

No, I am not refering to f*ck. If you read before "The One-Minute Millionaire" by Mark Victor Hansen, you would have a vivid idea of such a millionaire. What is an enlightened millionaire?

An enlightened millionaire:
a burning desire to succeed
working smart and hard
a team player in the mastermind group
faith and persistence to never give up
willing to help and share
contribute to the people around him
ability to inspire and lead
tithe 10% of profits to charity

This, in my opinion has already made you a millionaire internally. All it takes is massive action to turn sound ideas into good profits.

I like to call out to all self-made millionaires, professionals, managers, and like-minded people to share some of their experiences, challenges, systems they used in creating wealth.

"The more you are willing to give, the more you will receive on an ongoing, consistent basis."- Yanwei aka Enlightened.

Please do share.

more about modeling as requested...

MModeling is a tool of Neuro-linguistics programming(NLP), and I chanced upon it through Anthony Robbins. Therefore, credits goes to NLP as well as Anthony Robbins.

In my previous post, I defined modeling as a process of "copycating" people who are excellent in areas of life that you desired to reach through their physiology, beliefs, focus and other ingredients. I find these 3 factors alone are sufficent enough to alleviate anyone to their desired area of excellence.

Why model? You may ask. Modeling is an effective tool in getting higher or even peak performance in an area of life within the shortest time possible. Hence, its make more sense to apply such a tool in life, does'nt it?

How to model? In the area of indoor sports, taking pool as an example. Pool players should realised that small changes in their cue movement, their body postures, breathing as well as other minor body shifts have the impact of affecting their game. By "copycating" their body movements, etc... you would have adopt a better physiology that allows you to play better in the shortest time possible and avoid the process of trial and error.

Beliefs. Its essential to have empowering beliefs in the area you wish to excel. You can either create them or adopt these beliefs from the people you wish to model. Using pool as an example again, by having the belief that-" I can get any ball anywhere on the table into the pocket I want it to go.", I create in my mind a picture of me getting ball after ball in to the pockets as long as I want it to. There is a difference, trust me! Now think about any beliefs you have for that thing you wish to improve, you may be surprised with the fact that you actually have disempowering beliefs. Lastly, when you adopt a belief, you got to feel like its real, otherwise its nothing but a string of words.

Think about it. I am not sure whether I am clear in my explanation. Do feedback me with any questions or comments.

something to share...

something i have learnt from Anthony Robbins is the fundamental tool of modeling. What is modeling, you may ask. Modeling is basically a tool where you "copycat" the physiology, beliefs, focus of a person whom is excellent in a certain area of life which you desire to have.

So how is this applicable in my life?

I applied this tool in a very fun way- in the game of pool.

Firstly, before I did modeling in the game of pool, my skills were definitely below average. I did improve as time passes but this process is slow. However, on one particular day, I chanced upon a few professional players and I quickly took the opportunity to model.

What did i do?
As i watched them play their game of pool, a new belief was formed in my mind subconsciously.
Gradually, I plucked it out from my subconscious mind and out came this belief-
"I can get any ball anywhere on the table into the pocket I want it to go into."

Its amazing how this one belief improve my game tremendously.

hidden treasure here in my site...

I was browsing through my own blog, monitoring my growth when all of a sudden i began to take notice of the advertisments found on my website. As I reflect on what I have read for the past year, there is something I felt worth mentioning.

There is defintely a great difference in the" quality" of the knowledge being spread across today. To a large extent, I feel that books regarding personal development written by the authors today are superficial and mostly repetitive. Its true that Repitition is the Mother of all skill but I can't hide the disgust in the quality of the work of most self-help books today.

Its time that these authors do some personal reflection, do create some new ideas from what you have learnt from others. I am sure there is so much more to the expansion of the human mind, body and soul.

its getting dull...

Life has never been getting duller before for me... In-camp training has reached its lowest apex where I really cannot find anything that interests me or opportunities that will enrich me anymore. Perhaps thats all I can learn from life in an army camp.

For the past 1 year, I have dived myself into motivational self-help books that truly inspires the soul and body to give your best. Great gurus like Anthony Robbins with his arsenal of NLP tools to Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" and recently Bob Proctor's "You were Born Rich" have certainly taught me alot in life. They are great speakers that truly want to serve the community and I do thank them for that. However it seems that I have reached a state where my growth has "hantan-kaki-chapan-hanta." Been busy with some work. Hehe...
I have recently embarked on Personal Power 2 program, done by Anthony Robbins and it really really feels great!!!

I have so much fun exploring the program and myself. I am currently on Day 5 of the program, 25 more days to go. Hooray!!!

Besides PP2, I have also finished "Live with Passion" by Anthony Robbins himself as well as a Mega Memory program by Kevin Trudeau. They are AWESOME!

At the same time, I am looking for a Home course on Speed-reading , does anybody have any recommendations? I went on to Amazon and was disappointed not to find any speed reading programs done by Tony Buzan.

Any ideas???
Thanks.

Negotiating Conflict

I have just finished viewing Negotiating Conflict: Leadership in Times of Crisis DVD. This DVD is about personal transformation of ppl through the intervention of Anthony Robbins.

This seminar was recorded live at the time of the 911 event. At this particular lesson in mastery, a Jewish man from New York who have been otherwise been in the World Trade Center that day and a Muslim man with ties to Pakistan who identified with the extremists responsible for the attacks were called upon by Anthony Robbins.

Both men were extremely emotional about the 911 attacks and the conflict between these 2 men were inevitable. It is amazing to see the transformation of these 2 men made at the end of the seminar through the intervention of Anthony Robbins. The internal and external conflict of these 2 men were resolved through indirect negotiation led by Anthony Robbins. At this point of time, I have learnt alot about negotiating conflict through indirect negotiation.

INDIRECT NEGOTIATION is such a powerful tool to harness. Along the way as Anthony Robbins applied "THE 4 STRATEGIC ARCHETYPES", I realised it is a great tool that can be used on myself to resolve a conflict within me as it changes my FOCUS on the conflict.

Negotiating Conflict is a great dvd to have, you ought to see it at least once!

BTW, can anyone give me the translation of this phrase, "Invictus, Vividus, Primarius, Auctor"
Thanks alot.

Do feel free to post me any comments regarding the dvd or about Anthony Robbins. How can I ever ever made such a mistake...

<>Friends are an important part of life. Your success can be determined by them. Hence, I have concluded that friends shd be classified as <fun-seeking>"FUN-SEEKERS" , "SUCCESS" , "ACQUITTANCES" and "CONFIDANTS" .<confidants> <success> Furthermore, I have understood the strenght of weak-ties.

<>Last of all, I realised the importance of MENTAL-TOUGHNESS. Once strong within, nothing negative is ever going to break you.

There is brevity in this posting because there is much to think about over these few points. At this point of time, I would like to thank the ppl I met at UPW seminar. What can I say about UPW? Its absolutely fantastic!!! Yay, Hooray, yahoo??? Haha. It was really euphoric. Besides enjoying myself, I have learnt alot and made lots of new friends, they are the greatest bunch of ppl I have met so far.

First of all, what have I learnt and what have I put into practice? Knowledge is never power unless applied! Yep, thats what I have been trying to do for the past month. APPLICATION!!! For now, I will put that aside and instead shared what I have learnt,ie the gist of it.

DAY1

It was a pretty sad thing since I actually missed the first day of the seminar. What to do when the country depends on you? Haha. Lame stuff aside, I managed to learn from my new friends though on the 2nd day... Practical psychology.

What stops us from moving forward?
FEAR
What controls and determines the quality of our lives?
EMOTIONS
Why do we do what we do?
HUMAN NEEDS

It may seem simple but as you reflect this information upon yrself, you seem to understand yourself more. My lack of self-awarness of MYSELF has actually made my life difficult. It is amazing how that little more self-awarness can change your life.

After that, more things happened and DAY 1 ended with ppl mastering their fears through overcoming their fear in breaking a karate board. Well done, guys! And that was the beginning of DAY 2 as well...

Dominant styles

Each person has a dominant style and this determines how he manages at work,at home,in his relationships and how he communicates. There are basically 4 dominant styles that define everyone's behaviour.

Drivers
These are people who want to get things done. They are active and fast-paced, more interested in tasks than relationships. They are often strong-willed and very assertive, and push things to have things done their way.

Promoters
They are people that want to be noticed. Active and fast-paced, they are relationship-oriented. They tend to be expressive, chatty, friendly and usually dramatic. They do things more intuitively.

Supporters
These are people who want to get along. Very social and relationship-oriented, they are not as vocal or enthusiastic as promoters. They are dependable, work slower and are great team players.

Aministrators
These are the people who want to get it all right. They are task-oriented, not big on relationships, not very social and don't express their feelings. They are analytical, cautious and risk averse. They work at a slower, more methodical pace and are not assertive or expressive.

So which dominant style are you?

There is no failure, only delayed success.
Enlightened

Power of Decision

Analysis of over 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure disclosed the fact that lack of decision was near the head of the list of major causes of failure.
Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million dollar mark disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions slowly,if, and when they were changed. People who fail to accumulate money, without exception, have the habit of reaching decisions very slowly and changing these decisions quickly and often.
It is therefore important to understand the power of decision if you want to attain success in life. Below are some pointers in helping you to make decisions...

1. Understand the true power of making decisions.
You have to understand that by making quick and definite decisions, you have conquered procrastination. Procrastination is a common enemy to almost every man which must be conquered. By making a decision, you can gain control back of your life again.

2. Making a true decision.
It is essential to understand that is a difference between a decision as well as a true decision. I believe that a true decision is a decision made intelligently and quickly. You do not labour over the question of how or if you can do it. A good defintion might be "information acted upon."

3. Make decisions often.
The more decisions you made and the more often you does it, the better you're going to become at making them. Unleash an inner power within you by making decisions you have been putting off, a surge of energy and excitment will be created in your life. Do it now, it has worked for me.

4.Learn from your decisions.
Bad decisions will be made at times. You will make better decisions in the future by learning from these short term setbacks. You will save time, money or pain which will give you the edge to succeed in the future.

5. Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.
In short, do not be rigid in your approach, cultivate the art of flexiblitly.

6. Enjoy making decisions.
Know that its your decisions, and not your conditions, that determine your destiny.

A REAL decision is measured by the fact that you've taken new action. Once you made a decision about something in your life, it is mandatory to take action within 36 hours. Remember, DECISION AND ACTION will bring success to your life.

Lastly, I like to thank a group of my friends for having that great dinner with me at Moonfish Restaurant last night. It was one of my best dinners for a long time. Thank you and all the best!

To your success,
Enlightened

Anthony Robbins's seminar

Anthony Robbin's seminar recorded live is coming to Singapore on the 18th-21st at Singapore Expo. In scientific terms, it is known as the Theory of Simplicity, a criterion for deciding among scientific theories or explanations. In layman terms, "the best solution to a problem is almost always the simplest solution."

An example of Occam's Razor into use is the crop circles incident in the 1970s. There were 2 intepretations of the circles on the matted grass at that time.
1) Flying saucers were the cause of it.
2) Humans with instruments.

The 1st intepretation was rejected due to the lack of evidence as well as the complexity of it. Whereas the 2nd intepretation was accepted, despite the fact that it could be wrong, as it was simplest solution. The truth was out in the 1990s when 2 people admitted to it, the rest of the circles were done by copycats. Occam's Razor was right.

Occam's Razor can be extremely useful in everyday life, especially in the area of problem- solving. In general terms, people are usually stricken with fear, anxiety and doubt when faced with "gigantic" problems, Occam's razor "shaved off" these feelings as the solution is simply to just do it and take massive action. Its that simple at times.

I personally find Occam's Razor amusing and useful. It tends to make most problems very insignificant and easily overcome. I hope this theory will benefit all those who read it. Lastly, I have to stressed that Occam's Razor is a theory only, it is not applicable at all times and its no real life razor( people always tend to ask me where Occam's razor is on sale).

To your success
Enlightened

We are Gods in the chrysalis

In correspondence to the 7 Great Laws, I like to share with you this...

Whenever you go out-of-doors, draw the chin in, carry the crown of the head high, and fill the lungs to the utmost; drink in the sunshine; greet your friends with a smile, and put soul into every handclasp. Do not fear being misunderstood and do not waste a minute thinking about your enemies. Try to fix firmly in your mind what you would likfe to do; and then, without veering off direction, you will move straight to the goal. Keep your mind on the great and splendid things you would like to do, and then, as the days go gliding away, you will find yourself unconsciously seizing upon the opportunities that are required for the fulfillment of your desire, just as the coral insect takes from the running tide the element it needs. Picture in your mind the able, earnest, useful person you desire to be, and the thought you hold is hourly transforming you into that particular individual. Thought is supreme. Preserve a right mental attitude- the attitude of courage, frankness and good cheer. To think rightly is to create. All things come through desire and every sincere prayer is answered. We become like that on which our hearts are fixed. Carry your chin in and the crown of your head high.
We are gods in the chrysalis.

Adapted from " How to win friends and influence people." by Dale Carnegie.

To your success,
Enlightened

The 7 Great Laws of Life

1.The Great Law
The Law of Cause and Effect is the great law. Its the "iron law" of human destiny. This law states that for every effect in your life, there is a specific cause, or causes. It works inexorably, minute by minute, leading people to either success or failure, depending upon their activites.
2.Law of Compensation
This law states that you will always be compensated for your efforts and for your contribution, whatever it is, however much or little. Great success comes from those who make a habit of putting in more than they take out. They seek opportunites to exceed expectations.
3. Law of Control
"You feel good about yourself to the degree to which you feel you are in control of your own life."
Your level of happiness is largely determined by how much you feel you are in charge of the important areas of your life.
4. Law of Belief
"Whatever you believe, with emotion, becomes your reality." You always act in a manner consistent with your innermost beliefs and convictions. Actions are an expression of your beliefs, you can control your actions, hence you can indirectly shape and control your beliefs.
5. Law of Concentration
"Whatever you dwell upin grows and expands in your life." Successful people are those who continually think about what they want, as a result, they get more and more of what they want.
6. Law of Attraction
"You are a living magnet and you inevitably attract into your life people and circumstances in harmony with your dominant thoughts." Like attracts like. You can have more in your life because you can change the person you are, by changing your dominant thoughts.
7. Law of Correspondence.
"Your outerworld is a reflection of your innerworld." This is a paraphrase or restatement of the earlier laws.

Updates coming soon...

The New Year is coming, 2004 is coming to an end. I will be posting a personal reflection onto the site soon, describing some of the major changes I been through. It will be a personal story of me, handling change like everybody does and finally understanding that change is always happening. Besides this, I will be brainstorming for ideas for more upcoming self-help articles. Do post me any ideas or topics you people would like me to express and write about. I wish to transform "The First Light" into a free self-help website where people are able to gain knowledge and gain experience through my mistakes and improve their own lives and well as others. Thank you. If you feel that this site is worth your time as well as your loved ones, spread the word around. Ideas are developed through own experience as well as from many great self-help books.

Mindset 1

Understand that change is always happening. Always note for small changes, it will lead to big changes. Notice the change and move with the change. This prepares one more mentally for the challenges ahead.

Mindset 2

Change is not necessarily bad.

Event(change) + Response = Outcome

The response you choose to give in the process of the change determines the state of the outcome. It is important to realise that you are in control of your response, you determine the outcome.

Mindset 3

Change requires discomfort. Most people are unable to move beyond their comfort zone, tried once to move with change, failed and gave up. Such behavior is like that of a grasshopper in a jar with a lid. At first, the imprisoned grasshopper tries desperately to escape from the jar, using its powerful hind legs to launch its body up against the lid. It tries and tries for hours to get out from the jar. When it finally stops, the grasshopper trying days are over. It will never try again to escape from the jar by jumping. You would have a pet grasshopper for life. Once the grasshopper learns that it cannot change its situation, it stops trying.

You are not a grasshopper. You are a human being. You have the ability to think, reason, and most importantly to adapt and move with change.

Mindset 4

Learn to laugh at your own mistakes. During the process of change, it is important to keep in mind that change occurs in steps. Nobody is able to avoid it. However not many are willing to embrace changes and the worst of all, to be even aware that there is a change. I was such a person once, ignorant of changes.

Life was terrible.

Negative changes that take the form of obstacles and setbacks filled my life, often throwing me into despair. Miraculously, someone will be there to guide and care for me. After a while, I realised that one must embrace and adapt to change, naturally will then life goes on. Today, I have grown alot, becoming mentally, emotionally and spiritually stronger from the changes I experienced. I like to share the lessons I have learnt with everybody, so that all will benefit.

I will publish articles regularly, feel free to post your comments.

Thank you.
